We are happy to announce our next QBronze workshop organized jointly by QCzech and QSlovakia!

QBronze is QWorld’s introductory level workshop series on the basics of quantum computing and quantum programming. It is based on a collection of Jupyter notebooks using Python as the programming language and Qiskit library for writing quantum programs.

We are inviting everyone wishing to learn more about quantum computers, especially students at high schools or universities, as well as academic researchers and instructors. During the workshop, we will use the introductory tutorial Bronze by QWorld. The language of instruction and educational materials will be in English, but mentoring will be available in Czech or Slovak if needed. We will use a dedicated Discord server to conduct the workshop and we will have daily Zoom meetings. An on-line QWebinar will take place on 10 February at 6 pm (CET) which is included in the schedule of the workshop.

Those who complete the workshop successfully will receive a diploma!

Participants are expected to follow the workshop materials, watch the lecture videos and complete the tasks on their own. The workshop will be held during 6 consecutive days with 18 hours of training. On-line mentoring will be provided for participants during the times specified in the schedule below. Diplomas are awarded based on completion of on-line home work questions assigned at the end of each day.

Registration

You may apply for the workshop by filling the registration form until 7 February 2021 or until the number registrations reaches 60.

Workshop flow

The participants are expected to work individually at least 16 hours to complete the following sections of Bronze: basics of classical systems, basics of quantum systems, basic quantum operators, quantum correlation and quantum protocols, and quantum search algorithm

https://gitlab.com/qkitchen/basics-of-quantum-computing

The tutorial is a collection of Jupyter notebooks, and each notebook has a recorded lecture. We use python to solve the tasks and Qiskit library to code quantum programs. The participants should know at least one programming language before registering, and they should make themselves familiar with Python before the workshop if they do not know Python. We will share notebooks with installation instructions and review of math basics three days before the workshop starts.
